PHORLIX v1.0.7

We just released PHORLIX v107.

As shown in the figure, the two main changes are:

・3-view display in the 2D Viewer

・Auto-segmentation function

2DViewer x3

We added this because we wanted to display the view from three directions.
You’ve likely seen this in other viewers, so you probably have an idea of what it’s like.

auto segment

The auto-segmentation feature has been included since v1.0.5, but at that stage, it relied on traditional image processing techniques. Starting with v1.0.7, an AI-based method was also added.
However, the AI results cannot be applied to the traditional segmentation; the two methods operate in parallel.

To use it, first select a normal series from the database as usual.

Launch the 2D Viewer.

Here, select “CT Bone” from “Auto Segment.”
The calculation will then begin.

Once it finishes, a panel appears.

While an estimation is performed, the reliability is not particularly high, so it is recommended to manually classify the segmented regions. Click “Save” when finished to finalize the result (this also generates a DICOM SEG format file, which appears as a series with the “SEG” modality within the study).

Launching the 3D Viewer in this state allows you to view the results in 3D.

At this stage, PHORLIX treats the individual, color-coded organs as a single object. Unchecking “Bone” causes the magenta object to disappear from the display, as shown in the figure below.

Once finalized, a DICOM SEG format file is created (treated as one of the series within the study).

The same applies to CT Heart scans and the like.

If two or more DICOM SEG files are generated, the “Segmentation with SEGs” menu option becomes available; executing this merges the segments of the individual organs.

Please select “MONAI whole segment” for the AI-generated segment.

Note that the functionality to integrate results from classical segments and AI segments is not currently implemented.

Two HorliX Plugins have been released !

We have just launched two plugins For HorliX.
You can download and install them via Plugins Manager if you need.

Invert

This plugin makes all pixel value on a 2D Viewer inverted like the following:

T2 Fit Map

Some users had said that this plugin would be needed.
Therefore we ported it from original one, which was developed by Rosset Antonie,  into HorliX formally.

However, we don’t know how to use it in detail 🙂

HorliX on PHAZOR Market

We have also delivered HorliX from the Mac AppStore. However, the AppStore policy has changed and we cannot deliver it from the Mac AppStore anymore.

From now on, we will distribute it from our PHAZOR Market. Please apply for purchase directly to our contact page until the download site is activated.

The sandbox feature was turned on in the Mac AppStore version. However, since it is not convenient for hospital use or so, the sandbox function is turned off in this version.

The price is 199US$ ~.

If you don’t do any special customization, this version is probably enough.

Like the ‘Chronicles of Three Kingdoms’

Some users say like the following:

When we forked Horos project at the first time, OsiriX MD was above the clouds. Now HorliX is considered as another DICOM Viewer/PACS to be comparable to OsiriX MD.

We are proud of this situation although we have intention to move our own way in the near future.

Mojave

HorliX can run, at least 2D and 3D Viewers, on OS X 10.14 Mojave.
A bug on HorliX has never been received since Mojave was released.

App Store Connect

HorliX do NOT get any user’s information, needles to say patient’s information. But App Store Connect teach us that HorliX has sold in 15 countries all over the world since its release.

We are very happy.
